SMARTLIGHT SLWF-08 HDMI controller

The Smartlight SLWF-08 is an HDMI-CEC controller for smart home setups. Combined with ESPHome or Home Assistant, it lets you read the status of and control devices that support the HDMI-CEC protocol, such as TVs and media players. Typical commands include switching on and off, adjusting the volume and selecting the input. This makes it possible to integrate your TV or player directly into a central home automation system.

The controller is built around an ESP8266 (ESP-12F) module with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, is powered at 5 V via USB-Type-C, and supports firmware updates over the air or via USB. It also has a dedicated output for WS2812B addressable LED strips, which can be used for backlighting behind a TV. Tasmota is supported as an alternative firmware.

Note that you need to compile the ESPHome firmware yourself and flash it onto the controller, so basic familiarity with ESPHome is required for setup.
