The JVC RAE981B is a versatile internet radio in black, suited to listeners who enjoy both traditional radio stations and modern podcasts. It receives DAB+ and FM, and up to 40 stations can be stored for each mode. Over Wi-Fi it also gives access to online radio stations from around the world, and Spotify Connect lets you link your Spotify account directly to the unit.

The radio pairs with a smartphone via Bluetooth and can also be used as an external speaker. The 2.8-inch colour display makes operation straightforward, and the UNDOK app allows the main functions to be controlled from Android and iOS devices. A remote control is included. Two 10 W stereo speakers with a Bass Boost function handle the sound, and a headphone output is also provided.

Two separate alarm times, a snooze function and a sleep timer add everyday convenience, while USB, AUX-IN and line-out connections offer further options. The unit is powered through a mains adapter.
